My apologies. WTMA-FM began in late 1949, and back then the FCC encouraged easy listening programing on the FM band. WTMA later began regular simulcasts around 1962. WBBY (now in Florida) changed its frequency to 1120 Khz during the first broadcast year (circa 1923) to make room for WOAH. I often wondered if these two stations were the ancestors of WTMA and WCSC since only two local AM and two FM stations existed for decades.

Hello John and everyone reading this. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to say hi and to use your facilities to reflect on my tma days - or should I say "daze". That period started for me around March of 1963. The studios back then in the Dock Street Theater, were an amazing place for me. I had just turned 19 and my world had just begun. Unfortunetly, that year will also be remembered by me as the Dallas year. But life goes on and we learn, we love, and we experience. And my tma experience is forever etched in my mind. I hope that all of you enjoy this site and try to be a part of it in one way or another. - Jim Diamond

Sorry I missed your 80th Birthday. I was born the same year WTMA went on the air. I was my first job in Commercial radio after getting out of the Air Force in 1960. Many more happy years of broadcasting.
